**Note, some library catalogs have: Began with v. 2, no. 3 (Jan. 1980). This is due to a title change.  Here is the title history:

Newspaper Librarians (Issue No. 1, Feb. 1978 and Issue No. 2, May 1978)

In 2003, the News Division stopped distributing a printed version of News Library News, creating a PDF file for future issues.  The last complete issue was published with Vol. 32, No. 2 Spring 201o.  After that, some postings using NLN column headings were made to a blog in 2010 and 2011.

News Library News in 1991

Ginny Hauswald posted to NewsLib that the News Division has 200 members as of April 3.   She also noted that the News Division has been a proud member of SLA since 1924, citing an article by Lany McDonald in a 1991 News Library News article.  You can read Lany Walden McDonald’s article,  “What in the World is a Kwapil?” here or the entire Fall 1991 issue here, thanks to Charlie Campo!

Broadcast Libraries (Is this the perfect time to establish a Special Interest Group for Broadcast Librarians? by Debra K. Bade)
Who We Are (Jeanette Curby, head librarian at the San Antonio Light, is hosting a tour of the Light’s library, but she’s done much more work behind the scenes.)

News Library News

Visit this page to search the archives of News Library News, the former newsletter of the SLA News Division.  Currently this page contains the archives for 1994 to Spring 2010.  A decision was made during the summer of 2010 to no longer publish a printed version.  Julie Domel, San Antonio Express-News, began publishing News Library News articles on the NewsLiBlog.  See that announcement here.

Eventually, issues prior to 1994 will be added to this archive.
